From PC Mag: Google's Gemini is updating how it remembers your preferences, and adding a Temporary Chat window for discussions you want it to forget.
Currently, Gemini will only remember details if you specifically ask it to. Going forward, however, the company's AI will be able to remember your key details and preferences automatically. The chatbot will learn from your past chats and have "more natural and relevant conversations, as if you're collaborating with a partner who's already up to speed," Google says.
In the coming weeks, the feature will launch on the 2.5 Pro model, followed by 2.5 Flash. It will be available everywhere except the European Economic Area, Switzerland, and the UK.
When available, personalized responses will be enabled by default. If you don't want Gemini to remember your details, you can disable the feature by going to Settings > Personal context and turning off Your past chats with Gemini.
