From PC Mag: Google Wallet’s latest update makes it a one-stop hub for tracking your orders, bringing delivery information together so you can monitor what you've bought and when it's set to arrive.
With similar features to the Gmail app, Android phones and tablets can now display tracking updates directly in Google Wallet. The feature was first announced in late June, but Google's vice president of payments, Stavan Parikh, confirmed in a LinkedIn post that the feature is now available to all US-based users.
Google’s support page on order tracking explains that it only works for select merchants, so it won't work for some smaller retailers or those not based in the US. Google says it may pull through any combination of “detailed receipts, tracking numbers, and shipping status" depending on what's made available.
If your order is supported, you’ll find it appears below the payment carousel at the top of the app. If you press the entry, it opens the transaction details, including the cost, time, and date, as well as the card you’ve used and the retailer. You'll also find an overview of what's included in the package.
