From PC Mag: Spotify announced three updates to its lyrics feature this week. The streamer will now support offline lyrics, expand translation to all users worldwide, and display a new lyrics preview in the Now Playing tab.
Lyric translations have been available on the platform since 2022, but they were limited to select markets. With this week’s update, the feature is now available to both Free and Premium users worldwide, “so more fans can unlock the meaning of songs across different languages.”
To view translations for supported tracks, swipe up on the Now Playing tab and tap the translate icon on the lyrics card. The button looks similar to Apple Translate's app icon, and translations will appear based on your device’s language. To switch back to the original lines, just tap the button again.
Spotify is also making lyrics available for offline viewing. Going forward, when Premium users download songs for offline listening, the lyrics will be saved on the device along with the tracks.
The final addition is lyric previews for the Now Playing tab. Instead of swiping up on the card, you can now follow the lyrics from a short space below the album art.
