SOUNDPEATS H3 Review

When a student suddenly has money, it is quite likely they will spend it on something they do not necessarily need. For me, it was a new phone. During the first few months of my internship a couple of years ago, I bought a Google Pixel 7. I have been using it for about four years now, and it has gone through a lot of abuse. I drop it very regularly, and there was a time when I left it on my car hood and drove off. It eventually fell off, but luckily, only the screen protector was shattered. There was a time when I cracked the camera glass, which was a major damage I had to fix. I attempted to fix it myself, but during the repair, I ended up scratching the lens. I finally got a new phone after four years, and I am quite happy to know I can once again take non-blurry photos. Something just as old as my Pixel 7 would be my wireless earbuds. I would like to upgrade them to a new one, so I wonder if the SOUNDPEATS H3 would be a good option. The H3 is one of SOUNDPEATS's award-winning wireless noise cancelling earbuds with support for high-resolution audio codecs. Will the SOUNDPEATS H3 be a good set of earbuds for daily use? Keep reading to find out!

Our review unit of the SOUNDPEATS H3 traveled a very short distance from Amazon's distribution center in Rocky View County, Alberta to our location in Calgary, Alberta, Canada through Amazon shipping. Both the cardboard packaging and the contents inside were in excellent condition.

The SOUNDPEATS H3 package design is mostly the same as other SOUNDPEATS products. The only difference is this package does not have the large SOUNDPEATS logo in the middle behind the product image. At the top left corner, there is a small SOUNDPEATS logo. The bottom left displays three logos to show the earbuds are high resolution and support LDAC and aptX audio codecs. The name H3 is printed at the bottom left, while there is a logo for an award at the top right corner labeled "VGP". VGP stands for Visual Grand Prix, which is a prestigious Japanese award within Asia established in 1987 for audio/visual equipment. Out of the three categories of awards, the SOUNDPEATS H3 won the Lifestyle Gold award, which was judged based on "the power to enrich your lifestyle". The sides and back of the packaging contain more information and specifications for the product.

To open the package, I first slid the cover off, which revealed a yellowish box with the SOUNDPEATS logo at the center. The top and bottom of the package were held together by magnets. Upon opening the top lid, I was greeted with the SOUNDPEATS H3 neatly resting at the center of a foam cutout. The top lid of the package had a cardboard box that contained the user guide, app information, four pairs of extra ear tips, and SOUNDPEATS panda stickers. There is also a 27.5cm USB Type-A to USB Type-C cable. The overall package design had a premium visual appeal to it, but it was undermined by the cheap-feeling texture of the box material and the foam holding the earbuds.
