From Corsair Press Release: Elgato today unveiled Wave Mic Arm MK.2 and the standalone version of Voice Focus, Elgato’s AI-powered VST plugin that cleans up a mic signal in real time to deliver vocal booth–quality audio. Together, these releases remove common barriers between creators and great sound, making professional audio feel effortless.
A Smarter Mic Arm
Wave Mic Arm MK.2 is the next evolution of Elgato’s original boom arm, building on the foundation of Wave Mic Arm with refined materials, smoother movement, and greater flexibility. More than a refresh, it’s a re-engineered take on what a boom arm can be. Made with premium metal components and clean design aesthetics, Mic Arm MK.2 combines silent movement with a highly adaptable range of motion. The arm rotates 360 degrees and holds its position without creaking, snapping, or spring recoil, enabling seamless mic placement even in tight or asymmetrical setups. Whether reaching over large monitors or swinging in from the side, the arm stays exactly where it’s positioned.
Hidden cable channels keep wires secure and out of sight, while a padded desk clamp ensures a strong hold on desks or tables with a consistent thickness of up to 60 mm / 2.4 in. The included riser extension adds vertical clearance, making it easy to position a microphone over large monitors or swing it in from the side. And thanks to standard thread adapters and ample weight support, Mic Arm MK.2 accommodates virtually any microphone or shock mount. Optional accessories like the low-profile desk plate and custom hinge caps add even more flexibility and personalization, letting creators tailor their setup to match their space and style.
“Boom arms haven’t evolved much in the last decade, but creators’ setups have,” said Julian Fest, GM of Elgato. “Mic Arm MK.2 reflects how people actually work today. It’s flexible, minimal, and ready for anything from compact desks to full podcast rigs.”
Voice Focus, now a standalone plugin
Launching alongside Mic Arm MK.2 is the Voice Focus VST plugin, now available as a standalone effect for any compatible DAW or recording app. Previously built into Elgato’s Wave Link software, Voice Focus was developed in partnership with ai|coustics to offer real-time, AI-powered voice isolation, ultimately delivering studio-quality clarity without the need for acoustic treatment or additional broadcast gear.
Unlike most audio cleanup plugins, Voice Focus works live, processing input in real time to significantly reduce reverb, suppress background noise like fans or keyboard clicks, and mitigate vibration from desk bumps or mic movement. It also isolates and preserves multiple voices in a single mic setup, making it ideal for podcasts or roundtable discussions. Whether streaming, recording, or joining a video call, it enhances vocals on the spot, no post-production required. More importantly, it preserves the full quality and character of a microphone signal, avoiding the over-compression or distortion common in conventional noise reduction tools.
Voice Focus supports VST3 and AU plugin formats on Windows and macOS, integrating seamlessly with major DAWs like Logic Pro, Reaper, Cubase, and Ableton Live, as well as Elgato’s own Wave Link. With just a single strength slider, the plugin delivers professional results without requiring users to navigate a maze of knobs, meters, or setup menus.
“Voice Focus is about making great audio effortless,” said Stephan Noethen, Product Architect at Elgato. “Creators shouldn’t need a vocal booth to sound professional. With this plugin, they don’t.”
Audio reimagined
From powerful hardware to intelligent software, Elgato is evolving how creators approach sound. Mic Arm MK.2 and Voice Focus mark a new chapter where better audio isn’t just possible, but practical.
