Samsung's First Pair of AR Glasses Are Coming Later This Year

From PC Mag: Samsung plans to release its long-anticipated augmented reality (AR) glasses before the end of the year. In its Q4 2025 earnings call, a Samsung representative briefly spoke about the new form factor and how it will form part of the brand’s AI and AR expansions.

Seong Cho, head of Samsung’s mobile experience division, said, “For XR, we plan to deliver rich, immersive, multimodal AI experiences through diverse form factors such as next-generation AR glasses.”

Samsung previously confirmed plans for a pair of smart glasses, but this is the first announcement to say they're coming in 2026. The brand previously teased the smart glasses after introducing its Galaxy XR headset, which runs on Google's Android XR platform.

Previous leaks for the smart glasses, shared by Galaxy Club, detail two prototype devices. If these devices make it to market, it’s likely they'll have a built-in 12MP camera, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi support, and transition lenses that automatically darken in direct sunlight.
