Google Wallet Adds a New Feature to Get You Through Airport Security Faster

From PC Mag: If you hate standing in long airport security lines, a new feature coming to Google Wallet might help ease your travel anxiety.

Google this week announced its digital wallet will add support for TSA’s PreCheck Touchless ID program in the coming weeks. The feature will allow eligible travelers to share their passport and boarding details with the TSA in advance and get through airport security with just a facial scan.

The TSA PreCheck Touchless ID program has been around for a while, but signing up for it hasn't been easy. PreCheck members have had to opt in with each participating airline individually, meaning you repeat the process every time you fly with a different carrier.

Google Wallet removes that obstacle. You could be flying with any of the 100 participating airlines from the 65 supported airports and still share your travel details with the TSA in just a few steps.

All you need to do is create an ID pass with your passport information once, and add your boarding pass to Google Wallet as usual. If you’re eligible for the PreCheck program, you’ll see a Get Started button appear below the boarding pass.
