Apple Reportedly Prepping 3 New iPads to Arrive In First Half of 2027

From PC Mag: After launching the new iPad mini with an OLED screen last week, Apple is preparing to refresh the remaining three iPad models in the first half of 2027, reports Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman.

Of the three rumored models, the entry-level iPad is long overdue for an upgrade. The existing 11th-generation iPad, launched in March 2024, runs the iPhone 14 Pro’s A16 chip and was subject to a company-wide price hike in June, which raised its starting price from $349 to $449.

With the upcoming upgrade, most likely in the first quarter of next year, the iPad will move to a faster processor while retaining its 11-inch and 13-inch display options, Gurman reported in July.

Juicier details were found in a recent code leak, which suggested an A19 chip, 8GB of RAM, a C1X modem, and an N1 networking chip for the iPad 12. Notably, the iPad 11 is the only current Apple slate without support for Apple Intelligence features. Increasing its RAM from 6GB to 8GB could change that.
