I was recently at a store where I saw a gift box in the theme of an anime called Case Closed or Detective Conan. I have watched and enjoyed this show for quite a while now, so when I saw a themed box, I contemplated on buying it. It is quite rare to see this type of merchandise in North America. However, on first look, I thought it was only filled with snacks, so I hesitated and did not buy it. However, as I was driving home, my sister asked me if I was at home so she could drop off a surprise. Lo and behold, she was at the store at the same time as I was, and she bought it for me without thinking. I hurriedly opened the gift box to discover not only was it filled with chips, but also a pack of playing cards in the theme of the anime. Not only was I glad I did not buy it, but I was also glad someone else got it for me. In life, sometimes, there will be surprises that may not be huge, but they still can be beyond your expectations and brighten your day. In a similar vein, when Epomaker sent us their TH65, I saw it was the pink version with their silent tactile switches. With a color so bright but a supposed sound so quiet, I wondered how Epomaker could balance this. Will I be surprised by this combination? Will there be other unexpected aspects with the TH65? Let us read on to find out!
Today's review unit of the TH65 traveled far from Epomaker's headquarters in Shenzhen, China. Traveling with eMile Express, this brown corrugated cardboard box is sealed in orange packing tape and arrived at our APH Networks location in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. It was slightly dented with rounded corners and edges, but there is nothing to be too concerned about. Along with the TH65, we received other Epomaker peripherals, including the HE65 V2 TMR, HE75 V2 TMR, and Nex Lite.
The recent Epomaker retail boxes for keyboards have the same format, and the Epomaker TH65 is in an orange version of it. The front shows the company's logo on the top left corner with the product name on the bottom corner. In between, there is a description that says "Hot-swappable Tri-mode RGB mechanical keyboard". On the right side, there is a scaled down outline of the TH65. Underneath, there are five highlighted features of this keyboard. This includes the compact layout, a volume knob, the wired and wireless operating modes, the software utility, and custom RGB backlights. These are standard features, but we will explore these aspects in our review.

Out of the box, the Epomaker TH65 is wrapped in a translucent plastic bag with a clear shell on top to protect the keyboard. Epomaker has included accessories like a combination keycap and switch puller, braided white 1.8m USB Type-C to Type-A cable, and two extra switches in case any other fails. A small quick start guide is also provided to help you get started with the keyboard.
