Got M2 Mac Mini Issues? Apple Might Fix It for Free

From PC Mag: Apple has launched a free repair program for some faulty M2 Mac minis. The computer launched in 2023 alongside an M2 Pro version, and the recall stems from a power issue noticed in some recently sold units.

The affected devices were manufactured between June 16 and Nov. 2, 2024, Apple says. The company hasn’t specified the reason for the fault, but it warns that “a very small percentage of Mac mini (2023) devices with the M2 chip may no longer power on.”

To check if your device is eligible for the free repair, enter its serial number on a dedicated support page. You can find the serial number by clicking on the Apple menu > About This Mac. If your Mac mini doesn’t turn on, the number can be found on the underside of the device, near the regulatory markings, or on the original box it came in.

If your M2 Mac mini is eligible for the program, you can get it serviced from an Apple Store or an Apple-authorized service provider. The program is valid for three years after the first retail sale of the unit, Apple says.
