Some combinations are an interesting choice because you wonder how they complement each other. For example, I was recently participating in a limited budget cooking competition. For this event, we could make any main dish with a certain secret ingredient. When the organizers told us the ingredient was dark chocolate, my thought was to do something that would hide it, which is not easy to do. Initially, I was thinking about doing a chocolate mole, which is a Mexican sauce. While we were shopping, one of our late team members called us, and upon hearing the secret ingredient, he suggested a Japanese curry. I had never heard of this before, but I knew that Japanese curries often have a sweet element to it, so I thought it was a very sensible idea. I was glad we listened to him, because the result was a delicious dish. The bitterness of the dark chocolate was nicely balanced with the salt and richness of the curry flavors. Going forward, I think I may add a bit of chocolate to my own Japanese curry. In an analogous way, today we have a new pair of headphones from a new company in the form of the Kiwi Ears Aventus. However, I do not really know what "kiwi ears" look like. I am not even sure if it is a sensible combination. But more importantly, will this combination of a company produce a sound pair of headphones? Let us hope this will be an excellent pairing as we see what the Aventus can do!
Today's review unit of the Kiwi Ears Aventus arrived from Kiwi Ears' office in Shenzhen, China. The box was shipped via Yanwen and eMile Express once in Canada. It arrived at our APH Networks location here in Calgary, Alberta in excellent condition. The corrugated cardboard box was sealed with yellow tape to prevent tampering
Out of the box, the Kiwi Ears Aventus is a bit random in terms of box design. In the middle, we have the pair of wireless headphones shown over a space-like photo. The back shows the "Aventus" name with some motion blur. The Kiwi Ears logo is on the top left corner, while the bottom right shows the full product name, along with a description of "DJ ANC Wireless Headphones". Around the back, we have some random information about the product inside. The box also opens like a drawer with the inner box sliding out of the outer shell.
Before we continue, I have grabbed the specifications from the manufacturer's website for your viewing pleasure:

Out of the box, the Kiwi Ears Aventus is packaged in a hard shell case, along with all the included cables and what not. A small white envelope is packaged separately, and it holds a pair of two tuning foam pads to insert in the removable earcups. We will explore these later. Otherwise, a small user manual is included to help you get started with the Kiwi Ears Aventus. I do like how everything is packaged into the case, as it ensures you can carry all the accessories with your Aventus wherever you go.
