From PC Mag: Ever since the iPhone 18 Pro Max launched last month, AT&T customers have complained about being unable to make calls, send texts, or use cellular data. According to MacRumors, the carrier acknowledged the issue in a text message to customers this week and recommended an immediate software upgrade to fix the issue.
“Hi, it’s AT&T. Action needed: An important Apple software update for your iPhone 18 Pro Max is available. Some phones may be unable to complete calls/text/data, including to 911. Update to iOS 27.0.1 immediately,” reads AT&T’s message to customers.
Apple's iOS 27.0.1 began rolling out to iPhone users on Monday. The release notes mention patches for a Face ID bug and camera-zooming issues on iPhone 18 Pro models, as well as a fix for an unresponsive screen issue. No mention of AT&T issues, though.
Even after updating to iOS 27.0.1, cellular issues persisted for some AT&T customers on the 18 Pro Max, MacRumors reports. It's unclear whether the issue lies with the carrier or the iPhone hardware. Neither Apple nor AT&T has explained the cause. In any case, you can update your iPhone software by going to Settings > General > Software Update.
